A particularly handsome classic Victorian full calf with gilt raised bands, twin labels, the volume label being very ornate and fine gilt tooling around the Prince of Wales's feathers. Twin gilt and a blind fillet frames the gilt block of Oriel College, Oxford. An heraldic bookplate. There is a neat ink Latin inscription on the first blank. Portrait and folding maps. A very smart copy of one of Prescott's great American histories.
