London: At the Chiswick Press for the Paris Académie Des Bibliophiles, 1868. Full morocco, 8 inches tall. A superb full straight grain morocco with gilt raised bands and very fine and rich gilt tooling to the panels and boards. With gilt dentelles and all edges. Slightly rubbed at the head and with a little staining to the upper board. This example is number 98 of 265 copies. This is a study of the Talmud by Deutch who came from Berlin, but worked in the department of oriental manuscripts at the British Museum.

Cambridge: Merrill, Evans and Fletcher, 1785. 6 volume set, 9 inches tall.A good looking 18th century full calf with gilt raised bands, twin labels, the volume label being interesting, with a lion peering over a swag atop a cartouche bearing the number. An ornate gilt roll frames the boards. All edges gilt. On the reverse of the free endpaper is an ink inscription to the "Earl of Ailesbury from the Editor". Some expert restoration but a fine solid set of the first edition of a scarce title.

London: George Cowie, 1837. 5 volume set, 9 inches tall. A most attractive early Victorian full calf with gilt raised bands, twin labels and elegantly gilt tooled panels. A single gilt fillet frames the boards. There is a neat contemporary ink previous owner's name on the reverse of the paste down end paper. Portrait. Slight rubbing. A bookplate has been removed from the rear paste down end papers. A fine set of the works of this great English theologian and philosopher best known for his exposition of natural theology.

Paris: Curmer, 1858. 2 volume set, 10.5 inches tall. A simple but pleasing mid 19th century full vellum with gilt bands, dentelles and all edges gilt. Each page decorated with wide lithographic borders. With the gilt stamp of 'Schafer of Piccadilly', purveyors of luxury items. A fine set of this classic Christian guide based on the monastic practice of devotional reading by the 'Gentleman Saint'.

London: Chapman & Hall, 1911. Full morocco, 8 inches tall. A superb full morocco by Bayntun with gilt raised bands, elegant gilt tooled panels and boards, wide dentelles and top edge gilt. A fine edition of this great English 17th century theologian's select essays.

London: Nunn et al., 1818. 2 volume set, 8 1/2 inches tall. A handsome set of this influential work in half calf with gilt raised bands and beautifully gilt tooled panels. Some scuffing to the boards. With a previous owner's name 'Mr Moon' neatly written in ink on the paste down end paper.

London: Tegg, 1837. 2 volume set, 9 inches tall. A superb early Victorian full calf with gilt raised bands, fine twin labels and extra gilt panels. A single gilt fillet frames the boards which have some rubbing and scuffing. Armorial bookplate. Pink speckled edges. A very neat ink inscription on the first blank.

London: George Bell, 1904. Two volume set, 5 inches tall. Full crushed morocco with raised bands, splendid floral gilt tooling to the panels, dentelles and all edges. The upper boards are finely decorated, the lower boards have a simple gilt fillet. Ink inscriptions, dated 1906 on the first blanks.

London: Arthur L. Humphreys, 1907. Full morocco, 6 1/2 inches tall. A handsome full morocco by Hatchards with raised bands, geometric gilt and blind tooling to the panels and boards. With gilt dentelles and all edges. Slightly rubbed and darkened around the borders of the boards. Beautifully printed by Humphreys on handmade paper. A wonderful edition of this great devotional work.

London: The Religious tract Society, c.1845. Full morocco, 2 1/2 inches tall. A delightful little volume in pristine condition with elaborate gilt tooling to the spine and boards. All edges gilt.

London: Cadell and Davies, 1811. 2 volumes bound in 1, complete, 8 1/4 inches tall. Full Regency calf with wide blind tooled raised bands and ornate gilt and blind panels. A series of blind and gilt fillets and rolls frame the boards. With the armorial bookplate of Benj. Philpot Chr. Coll. Cant. Soc. , the neat ink inscription 'Gustavus Wulff from B. Philpot 1832' on the first blank and a partly obscured neat ink inscription at the head of the title page. Some rubbing and marking but still an interesting binding.

London: The Religious Tract Society, 1836. Full Calf, 4 inches tall. A tiny and delightful devotional work in a charming early Victorian binding with gilt raised bands, label and superb extra gilt panels. With the neat ink former owner's inscription 'Mary Ann Ashley, January 1840.

London: Crosby & Co., 1811. Half calf, 5 1/2 inches tall. A superb little Regency half calf binding with gilt bands and tooling to the panels and green label. With the binder's ticket of James Condie of Paisley. Engraved frontispiece.

London: T. Murphy, 1839. 2 volume set, 5 inches tall. A good looking early Victorian half calf with gilt raised bands, twin labels and ornate gilding to the panels. Engraved frontispiece and title page to both volumes. A neat set of the great work of this German author and theologian, an influence in his day, most famously on Beethoven.

London: Whittaker, 1823. 2 volume set, 6 1/4 inches tall. A neat Georgian full calf binding with gilt raised bands, twin labels and gilt tooled panels. Red speckled edges. Bookplate. Engraved plates. A smart little set of this theological work that highly influenced Beethoven.

London: Joseph Masters, 1869. Full morocco, 5 inches tall. A delightful little binding with two gilt raised bands, either end of the title and name, presumably of the original owner. There is dense and fine gilt tooling to the spine at the head and tail. The boards are framed with triple fillets and corner tools. GIlt dentelles and all edges.

London: Joseph Masters, 1853. Full calf, 6 1/2 inches tall. A classic divinity or Oxford binding from the middle of the 19th century with inked raised bands, pallets, centre tools to the panels and inked tooling to the boards. Pink edges. Red ruled throughout. Owners name pasted to the endpaper and written on the first blank. Contains the Sacraments and the Psalms of David. Slightly rubbed, but still a charming example of this style.

London: The Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, 1847. Full Calf, 4 3/4 inches tall. A Superb embossed binding with blind bands, gilt title and blind tooling to the panels and elaborate blind embossed tooling to the boards. All edges gilt. An ink inscription to Lucy Hanson, dated 1847, on the first blank.
