A splendid half crushed navy blue morocco by Riviere with gilt raised bands, neat panels with naval gilt centre tools framed within gilt pallets and corner tooling. Gilt top edges. The binding has tooled the second volume with a I, as well as the first volume. Decorated with 25 maps and battle plans and 27 full page illustrations. A superb first edition of this classic work on the war between the United States and Great Britain.
