Both boards have fine and elaborate gilt fillets and corner tools and the upper board has a superb mosaic series of inlays representing a Regency dandy wooing his lady. The inlays and binding itself are in sparkling pristine condition having been housed in its original felt lined slip case, which is present. The full page illustrations and decorations are by John Austen in a striking and somewhat decadent manner.
