Paris: J. Techener, 1860. Full morocco, 8 inches tall. A splendid full morocoo binding by Bedford, one of London's finest binders of the period, with gilt raised bands, very fine floral gilt tooling to the panels. dentelles and top edge. With the armorial bookplate of Ernest William Greg.

apoli, Presso Agnello Nobile, 1819. 4 volume set, 7 inches tall. Full vellum with gilt bands and twin labels. Armorial bookplate. Engraved frontispieces. The tiny blue ticket of P. Rolandl, foreign bookseller of Berners St.. Some marking to the boards but overall a fine set. Including examples of the poetry of Dante, Petrach, Tasso up to Metastasio and De'Coletti, selected by the Englishman, Mathias.

London: Richardson; Rivington et al, 1811. Half straight grain morocco, 5.25 inches tall. An elegant little Regency binding with blind bands and Grecian lyre centre tools within gilt framed panels. Engraved frontispiece and title page. Occasional foxing. With the armorial bookplate of the 7th Earl of Buckinghamshire.

London: Rivington et al, 1817. Full straight grain morocco, 8.25 inches tall. An usual and superb biding from the Georgian period. With 3 very finely decorated raised bands, 1 inch square, titles, dentelles and all edges. The straight grain boards are framed within gilt and blind tooled rolls. Contains the "Life of The Author" and "Criticism On The Poem" by Samuel Johnson. Engraved portrait and title page. Neat early owners inscription on first blank.

London: Strahan and Cadell, 1789. 2 volume set, 9 inches tall. Straight grain morocco with gilt raised bands, titles and delicate gilt and blind tooling to the panels. A particularly nice copy of this scarce work in a late 18th century binding.

London: Lawrencea and Bullen, 1895. 2 volume set, 11 inches tall. A handsome half crushed morocco with twin gilt raised bands, titles, exceptionally handsome panels and top edge. One of 1000 copies, of which this is 156, with many full page illustrations by E.R. Hughes. A wonderful copy of these risqué tales.

A most attractive half morocco binding by Harrison with gilt raised bands, titles, fine and delicate gilt tooling to the panels with onlays and gilt top edges. No 71 of a limited edition of 1000 copies. Full page illustrations by E.R. Hughes. A lovely set.

Edinburg: The Apollo Press, 1781. Full speckled calf, 5 inches tall. With gilt bands and label. A pristine copy.

London: H.Moses, 1817. Full calf, 11 inches tall. With raised bands, labels, decorated gilt spine and boards, dentelles and top edge. Bound by Burgess of Ramsgate in 1940 (at the cost of one pound five shillings). With 24 superb engravings by Henry Moses and one folding plan of Ramsgate Harbour. There is a degree of foxing, some fraying to a couple of title pages with no loss and a small professional repair to the plan of Ramsgate Harbour, again with no loss. An unusually tall and handsome copy of this difficult title.

London: Macmillan, 1894. Full tree calf by Morley of Oxford, 7 inches tall. A spectacularly attractive example of full tree calf prize binding. With gilt raised bands, triple labels, fine gilt floral tooling to the panels, a fine gilt roll framing the tree calf on the boards, dentelles and all edges gilt. With an armorial gilt prize block on the boards and prize label on the pastedown end paper. A charming anthology of Engllish verse in a pristine tree calf.

London: Routledge, 1872. Full red morocco, 8.5 inches tall. A heavy Victorian binding with gilt raised bands, title, dentelles and all edges and splendid gilt tooling to the panels and boards. An excellent anthology of English poetry from the perspective of the time. With illustrations by Millais, Gilbert, Tenniel, Birket Foster and others. An owners name on the paste down endpaper has been crossed out and there is some foxing to the blanks, otherwise clean.

Paris: Chez Chasseriau, 1823. Full straight grain morocco, 8 inches tall. Gilt raised bands, titles, fine gilt floral panels, gilt and blind tooled boards, dentelles and pink endpapers. All edges gilt. Portrait. A very elegant copy in pristine condition.

London: Longman, 1846. Full crushed morocco, 10.5 inches tall. Splendid heavy Victorian binding with raised bands, extra floral gilt panels and boards, titles, dentelles and all edges. Illustrated throughout by Maclise with beautiful illustrations all within decorative borders. Some foxing throughout and light scuffing, a patch of leather on the lower board has been squidged with no loss.

London: Dent, n.d. c.1905. Full morocco, 10 inches tall. Full straight grain morocco by Bumpus, gilt raised bands, panels, titles, dentelles and all edges. A splendid copy of this fascinating volume with 50 full page colour illustrations and many black and white in the text. Foxing to the first few blanks and then clean from the half title. Ink inscription on the first blank.

Mantova: Co' Tipi Dell'Erede Pazzoni, 1816. 6 volumes, 6.5 inches tall. Full blue morocco by Hering. Superb set with wide floral gilt raised bands, framed panels, dentelles and all edges. Slightly rubbed on the spines.

Full calf, with twin red and green labels, gilt raised bands and floral gilt tooling to panels, marbled edges and endpapers, blind dentelles. Armorial bookplates. Slightly sunned at spine. The binder has had to correct the volume number on two of the three volumes. A very good set.
