London: John Van Voorst, 1841. Full morocco, 11 inches tall. A stunning full hard grain morocco by Toovey of Piccadilly with gilt raised bands, exceptionally fine gilt tooling to the panels and a triple fillet framing the boards. Gilt dentelles and top edge. One of only 50 'Imperial' copies. With the leather label of Denning. Illustrated with 336 engraved vignettes. Thomas Rymer Jones, eminent English surgeon, academic and zoologist was Fullerian Professor of Physiology at the Royal Institution in 1840 to 1842.

Paris: Audot, 1822. 2 volumes complete, 8 inches tall. A most attractive set in half speckled calf with gilt pallets, large blue labels and delicate gilt centre tools. Armorial bookplate. Yellow edges and interesting endpapers. With 36 engraved plates. Described by Thiebaud (522) " Un des livres de chasse les plus agréablement illustrés de cette époque". In the original French.

London: Bumpus, 1820. Full morocco, 6.5 inches tall. A very pleasing Georgian full straight grain morocco binding with wide gilt raised bands, elaborately gilt panels, dentelles and all edges. The boards are framed within blind and gilt rolls, typical of the period. Engraved first title page. A fine little edition of these celebrated letters, under the still mysterious nom de plume of Junius, in pristine condition.

London: Dove, 1827. Full vellum, 5 inches tall. A beautiful little vellum binding with label and fine gilt tooled panels, the boards are framed within a blue outline. A particularly clean copy inside and out. A collection of letters critical to George III, the true authorship has been much debated but never verified.

Batavorum Lugdunum: Elzevir, 1640. Full crushed morocco, 4.75 inches tall. A delightful little volume in a sumptuous binding with gilt bands and floral tooling to the panels, dentelles, triple gilt fillet to the boards and all edges gilt. With wonderful gilt stamped endpapers. Voluptuous engraved title page. There were two first editions, this being the larger without the dedication from Vossius to Bielke but with summaries of the contents of each book. With the Bookplate of the Hayhurst Collection.

Leipzig: Dörffling und Franke, 1857 & 1858. 2 volumes, full calf. A classic Victorian full calf by Leighton with gilt raised bands, twin labels and fine floral gilt tooling to the panels. A 3rd and concluding volume was published in 1859. In the original German.

London: Suttaby, 1812. Full morocco, 2 volumes bound in 1, complete, 5.25 inches tall. From a larger set of "The Works of the British Poets", hence the volume number on the spine. In a beautiful Regency binding in full straight grain morocco with gilt raised bands, gilt centre tools and blind corner tools to the panels and all edges gilt. On both boards a Grecian lyre within a wreath is framed by elaborate blind tooling. Armorial bookplate. 2 engraved plates. An exquisite little volume.

London: Hector M'lean, 1819. Full straight grain morocco, 10.5 inches tall. A very fine Regency binding with wide extra gilt raised bands and panels. The boards are framed within wide gilt and blind rolls. All edges gilt. Fine engraved plates by Smirke. From the Library and with the bookplate of Robert J. Hayhurst.

Lille: Desclée, de Brouwer et Cie, c.1890. Full calf, 9 inches tall. A beautifully bound volume with gilt raised bands and superb gilt tooling to the panels and boards. All edges gilt. A remarkable printing of this great work, written at the beginning of the 14th century. The first and last leaves are printed on vellum.

London: Jones, 1825. Full calf, 3.75 inches tall. A fine tiny binding with gilt bands and panels, label and gilt and blind tooling to the boards. Engraved frontispiece and first title page. Slight scattered foxing and small tear to second title page, otherwise pristine.

Paris: Joseph Barbou, 1770. Full calf, 6 inches tall. A delightful 18th century calf binding with gilt bands, labels and floral gilt tooling to the panels. The mottled calf boards are framed by simple gilt rolls. All edges gilt. Frontispiece by Gravelot and woodcut ornaments. Finely printed latin text of this great history.

Edinburgh: Constable, 1854. Full morocco, 6.75 inches tall. A superb copy bound by Bedford, one of the greatest firms of the period. With gilt raised bands, gilt titles and exeptionally fine tooling to the panels and boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. In pristine condition.

London: How and Parsons, 1842. 2 volume set, 7 inches tall. Full calf extra gilt by Riviere. With gilt raised bands, twin labels, fine floral tooling to the panels, wide dentelles and gilt top edges. With frontispieces and title pages by George Cruikshank. With the cloth boards and spines bound in. A superb copy in pristine condition.
