A stunning full hard grain morocco by Toovey of Piccadilly with gilt raised bands, exceptionally fine gilt tooling to the panels and a triple fillet framing the boards. Gilt dentelles and top edge. One of only 50 'Imperial' copies. With the leather label of Denning. Illustrated with 336 engraved vignettes. Thomas Rymer Jones, eminent English surgeon, academic and zoologist was Fullerian Professor of Physiology at the Royal Institution in 1840 to 1842.

The boards are framed within blind and gilt rolls, typical of the period. Engraved first title page. A fine little edition of these celebrated letters, under the still mysterious nom de plume of Junius, in pristine condition.

London: Dove, 1827. Full vellum, 5 inches tall. A beautiful little vellum binding with label and fine gilt tooled panels, the boards are framed within a blue outline. A particularly clean copy inside and out. A collection of letters critical to George III, the true authorship has been much debated but never verified.

With wonderful gilt stamped endpapers. Voluptuous engraved title page. There were two first editions, this being the larger without the dedication from Vossius to Bielke but with summaries of the contents of each book. With the Bookplate of the Hayhurst Collection.
