London: Virtue, n.d. Quarter morocco, 11 inches tall. Easily taken as full morocco this is a quarter binding with leather spine and hard grain leather imitation cloth on the boards. With gilt raised bands, very fine 'Irish' gilt tooling to the panels. Gilt and blind tooling to the boards and all edges gilt. Most attractive gilt stamped endpapers. Neat ink inscription on first blank dated 'Dublin 1876'. With 119 of the 121 superb engraved plates, 'Clondalkin' and 'Interior of Holy Cross Abbey' apparently never bound in.
