    London: The London Printing and Publishing Company Limited, 1858-61. 3 volume set, 11" tall. A classic Victorian half calf with gilt raised bands, twin labels and fine gilt tooling to the panels. Illustrated with 3 engraved title pages, 2 folding hand-colored maps and 120 full paged steel engravings. There is a degree of staining to several plates in particular to the title pages and frontispieces, volume 2 suffering particularly badly, but still a very good looking set on the shelf and complete.     London: Longmans, Green, and Co., 1871. Full morocco, 7 1/4 inches tall. A stunning full morocco with gilt raised bands and extra gilt panels. Gilt dentelles and all edges. With the arms of Baron Saye and Sele in the top panel and their coat of arms on the lower board. On the upper boards is the coat of arms of Winchester College. A prize bookplate is on the front paste down endpaper. With 3 maps and 2 battle plans. A scarce title especially in such a fine binding.

    Edinburgh: Robert Cadell, 1834. 3 volume set, 6 inches tall. An extraordinary full hard grain morocco with unusual gilt tooling to the smooth back and flamboyant gilt tooling to the boards. All edges gilt. Third Series. Slight foxing to the 3 frontispieces, otherwise clean. Fading to the spines, especially to the first volume. An ink inscription first blank reading: 'H.J. Coleridge from H.G. Hulse Eton. May 1841.' Followed in pencil by: 'Died at Messina June 1. 1851 and a Latin quotation.
