Berlin: Photographische Gesellschaft, 1895. Full morocco, 26 inches tall. A magnificent and colossal full morocco by the great firm of Leighton of Brewer Street, but without their ticket. A unique deluxe copy from the Rothschild library at Exbury. With gilt titles and tooling on a smooth back, a fabulous series of huge gilt rolls to the boards, gilt dentelles and all edges. Embellished with 27 superb photogravures. Some foxing in particular to the preliminaries and the margins, rather than the actual images, but a stunning and unique example of this very rare edition.

Munich: P. Kaeser, 1881. Full morocco, 26 1/2 inches tall. A colossal and superb full morocco binding by the great firm of J. Leighton of Brewer Street from the library of Alfred de Rothschild, but without his bookplate. With twin gilt raised bands and wonderful gilt tooling to the panels and boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. With 50 engraved plates, as called for. Some scratches to the lower board, otherwise in fine condition. A huge and very heavy volume in German and French.

A magnificent set in extraordinary Spanish calf, not signed but bound by White of Piccadilly in the middle of the 19th century. With gilt raised bands, twin labels and glorious gilt tooling to the panels. Triple gilt fillets framing the boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. A superb set of some of the most influential works of the late 18th and 19th centuries, in their original German in a fabulous binding in pristine condition.

Berlin: Verlag von Veit und Comp, 1834-1835. Full morocco, 7 inches tall. A beautiful little devotional work in straight grain morocco with gilt raised bands, finely gilt tooled panels, dentelles and all edges. The boards are framed with gilt and blind rolls and corner tooling. Watered silk endpapers. A neat ink inscription dated 1836 and a blind armorial stamp are found on the first blank. This Breviary of the Laity is used in Western Christianity for praying the canonical hours.
