London: Bradbury and Evans, 1854. Full red calf, 8.5 inches tall. A very fine copy in pristine condition. Bound with gilt raised bands, labels and delightfully tooled gilt panels framing a centre tool of riding cap, stick and whip. Gilt dentelles and top edge. Faint stains to the boards. With hand coloured full page engravings by John Leech.

London: Longman, Hurst, Rees and Orme, 1809. Full diced calf, 8.5 inches tall. A superb Regency binding with gilt and blind bands and very fine blind, gilt and inked tooling to the panels. The diced boards are framed within blind and gilt rolls. There is a dark patch on the upper board and a neat ink inscription dated 1810 on the reverse of the free endpaper. A splendid example of a binding of this period on a tenth edition of this celebrated poem.

London: Longman, Brown, Green, & Co, 1849. Full calf, 5.5 inches tall. Full calf with gilt raised bands, title label, gilt tooling to the panels and all edges. An anthology of poetry and song with delightful chromolithograph borders. Lacks half title. A charming volume being "A Gathering of some of the most Pleasant Flowers of Old English Poetry".

London: Johnson, 1791. Full calf, 5.5 inches tall. A charming little volume bound in full calf with gilt bands, label and fine gilt tooling to the panels. Red speckled edges. A fascinating work describing the ailments and cures of the day.

London: John Murray, 1826; 1820. Full calf, 8.5 inches tall. A most attractive early 19th century binding with wide raised bands, label and extra gilt panels. Early ink owner's signatures on the first blank and half title. The text block of the first title is clean, that of the second foxed. Both plays are first editions.

Oxford: The University Press, 1836. 2 volume set, 8.75 inches tall. A splendid early Victorian full calf with raised bands, twin labels and gilt tooled panels. Small loss to the head cap of the second volume but still a very smart set.

London: Routledge, c.1880. 2 volume set, 8.5 inches tall. Fine full straight grain calf by Relph with gilt raised bands, twin labels and floral gilt tooling to the panels. A gilt 'prize' stamp embossed on the upper boards, A prize stamp on the paste down end paper and bookplate on the first blank. Portraits.

Edinburgh: Constable, 1821. Full calf, 8.5 inches tall. A most handsome Georgian binding with blind tooled raised bands, finely gilt tooled panels and a wide gilt roll framing splendid blind tooling on the boards. A lovely copy of the 4th edition of these celebrated poems in a contemporary binding in excellent clean condition.

Leipzig: Dörffling und Franke, 1857 & 1858. 2 volumes, full calf. A classic Victorian full calf by Leighton with gilt raised bands, twin labels and fine floral gilt tooling to the panels. A 3rd and concluding volume was published in 1859. In the original German.

Paris: Calmann-Lévy, 1880. Full calf, 9 inches tall. A fine binding with gilt raised bands, elegant centre tools to the panels and and gilt oval centrepiece within gilt panels to the upper board. Some foxing and speckling to the boards. The first edition of this long philosophical poem.

London: Routledge, 1872. Full calf, 9.75 inches tall. A most handsome Victorian binding with gilt raised bands, label and fine gilt floral tooling to the panels. The gilt prize block of Rugby School on the upper board. Neat ink inscription dated 1873 on the reverse of the paste down endpaper. Armorial bookplates. Scuff on lower corner of the upper board. Edinburgh: Oliver and Boyd, 1822. Full calf, 5 1/4 inches tall. A charming little Georgian binding with gilt raised bands and delightful gilt floral tooling to the panels. The splendid embossed boards are framed within gilt and blind rolls. The second title page has the previous owners initials. With engraved frontispiece and title page.

New York: Roycrofters, 1900. Full limp reverse calf, 8 1/2 inches tall. A beautifully printed limp reverse calf with yapp edges, and gilt titling to the upper cover. Hand coloured title page and initials by Samuel Warner and printed on hand made deckle edged paper. One of 925 'hand illumined' copies of which this is number 6. Signed by Elbert Hubbard.

London: Charles Tilt, 1840. Full calf, 7 1/2 inches tall. A very fine binding by Riviere with gilt raised bands, olive label and delicate floral gilt tooling to the panels. The boards are framed within gilt corner tools and a triple fillet. Gilt dentelles and top edge. The original cloth covers and spine are bound in. First edition. With 8 engraved plates and many vignettes by Leech. A very fine example with a few marks to the binding.

London: Rivington, et al., 1816. Full calf, 5 1/4 inches tall. A lovely little Regency binding with blind raised bands and unusual and very attractive gilt tooling to the panels and an elaborate series of gilt fillets and rolls framing the boards. Bookplate. Charming engraved frontispiece and bookplate. James Thomson, the 18th century poet now best known for writing the lyrics of 'Rule, Britannia!', was one of the most popular and influential poets of his century. A fine copy in excellent condition.

London: Scott, Webster , and Geary, c.1840. Full calf, 5 inches tall. A lovely early Victorian little binding with gilt raised bands, olive label and very finely gilt panels, The boards have blind stamped 'fish scales' within a series of blind fillets. A very neat ink inscription on the first blank reads: "Mary Ann Ashley, August 1840". Some neat ink underlining sporadically throughout. Two great titles in a super little pink calf binding.

London: Suttaby, 1810. 2 volume set, 6 1/2 inches tall. A pretty Regency set in full diced calf with gilt and inked bands, typical of the period, and ornate gilt tooling to the panels. The armorial bookplate of Sarah Phillott. Embellished with fine engravings. This edition was published in the 'British Classics' series but is complete in itself.
