    London: John Scott, 1806. 5 volume set, 9 inches tall. A beautiful Regency set in straight grain morocco bindings with gilt raised bands, blind bands and fine gilt tooling to the panels. Splendid panels have been constructed with gilt and blind tooling to the boards, so typical of the period. Gilt dentelles and all edges. Watered-silk end papers. With the armorial bookplate of Frederick H. Dutton of Sherborne House. There is a neat previous owner's name in ink on the title pages. Embellished with 150 engraved plates. A very fine set.

A very fine full crushed morocco by the great firm of Morrell with gilt raised bands, suitably macabre/comic centre tools and ornate gilding to the spine and boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. There is a neat ink former owners name on the first blank that has partially offset. 20 superb full page steel engravings by Cruikshank, Leech and the author. A super copy of this classic comic work.

Silva was a highly influential book and the first important publication on Forestry published in England. 'The Memoirs' have engraved frontispieces, a folding genealogy of the Evelyn family, 3 portrait engravings, and 6 further engravings. The 'Miscellaneous Writings' contain an engraved frontispiece and 3 further engravings. There is a degree of foxing to the plates. The bookplate of Andrew Carnegie is to be found in all 5 volumes. A splendid uniformly bound collection.
