The New Week’s Preparation For a Worthy receiving of the Lord’s Supper As Appointed and Practised by the Church of England.
London: Bent, 1787. Full red calf, 6.5 inches tall. A delightful binding in pristine condition. Gilt bands and very fine gilt tooling to the panels. The boards are framed by a geometric roll. Two parts with separate title pages and frontispieces. An early owners inscription on the first blank. Very curious bookplate in the form of a very delicate cut out on which is a minuscule manuscript inscription. Some worming affecting 14 leaves towards the end of the first part.

London: Printed for the author, 1825. A stunning binding from the library of Lord Eldon, Lord Chancellor and in a uniform binding with our Soames History of the Reformation in our stock. Full straight grain morocco, 8.5 inches tall. With very wide raised gilt bands, superb extra gilt panels and tooling to the boards, dentelles and all edges. As is usual with this colour some blotching has occured over the years. On the title page volume 2 is stated and neatly crossed out and we are under the impression that this is the only volume published, as it contains a list of subscribers.

Oxford: Rivington, 1810. Half morocco, 8.5 inches tall. A high quality binding with gilt raised bands and very finely gilt tooled panels. Ink owners name on the title page. Slight foxing and a tear in the gutter of the title page and first page of the preface, not affecting the text. A new and corrected edition.

Edinburgh: Peter Hill, 1809. Full calf, 8.5 inches tall. An unusual mottled calf binding with gilt raised bands, twin labels and very fine and ornate gilt tooling to the panels. With the book plate of 'Fasque', the family seat of the Gladstones and where Queen Victoria's Prime Minister, William Ewart Gladstone, spent much of his childhood. Slightly rubbed.
