London: George Bell, 1904. Two volume set, 5 inches tall. Full crushed morocco with raised bands, splendid floral gilt tooling to the panels, dentelles and all edges. The upper boards are finely decorated, the lower boards have a simple gilt fillet. Ink inscriptions, dated 1906 on the first blanks.

London: Harding, 1795. Full morocco, 7 1/2 inches tall. A simple but very handsome 18th century full straight grain morocco with gilt bands, centre tools, dentelles and all edges. Some marks to the binding but no cracking or loss. Decorated with beautiful stipple engravings throughout. This delightful work has also been attributed to the Earl of Chesterfield.

London: Arthur L. Humphreys, 1907. Full morocco, 6 1/2 inches tall. A handsome full morocco by Hatchards with raised bands, geometric gilt and blind tooling to the panels and boards. With gilt dentelles and all edges. Slightly rubbed and darkened around the borders of the boards. Beautifully printed by Humphreys on handmade paper. A wonderful edition of this great devotional work.

Gotha: Chez Justus Perthes,1822. Full morocco, 4 1/2 inches tall. A delightful little almanach in full straight grain morocco with gilt bands, three different starburst centre tools and all edges gilt. Original orange paper wrappers bound in. Decorated with a frontispiece and 10 plates, some folding. A fascinating volume in an unusually handsome binding. In French.

Portland, Maine: Thomas B. Mosher, 1907. Full morocco, 7 inches tall. A fine binding for Hatchards of Piccadilly with raised bands and neat and simple gilt tooling framing the panels and boards, blind 'strapping' around the bands and onto the boards. Gilt title on the upper board. Handmade paper with gilt top edge and other edges left untrimmed. The bookplate of Gwendolyn Field and neat ink inscription, dated 1918, on the first blank. The spine is faded though still bright. A good looking copy of this fine edition of Shakespeare's sonnets.

London: Scott, Webster, & Geary, 1839. Full morocco, 5 1/2 inches tall. A very pretty little early Victorian binding in pristine condition with raised bands and ornate gilt tooling to the panels and boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. With a neat ink inscription, dated 1842 on the first blank. Sturm's 'Reflections' was hugely popular and influential in its day and has been in print ever since. Beethoven owned A copy of 'Reflections' which he annotated extensively.

Edinburgh: Black, 1865. Full morocco, 10 inches tall. A very fine heavy mid-Victorian morocco binding with gilt raised bands, extra gilt panels, ornate gilt tooling to the boards and all edges gilt. A double column edition, complete in 1 volume. Inscription.... 'on his leaving Eton Xmas 1865' on first blank. Some foxing to the preliminaries.

A handsome binding in terracotta goatskin by Hatchards with raised bands simple gilt tooled panels and boards and wide dentelles. All edges gilt. Some scuffing and a tiny loss of leather on the upper fore edge. A classic title, finely printed on handmade paper in a most attractive binding.

London: The Arcadia Press, 1970. Full morocco, 10 inches tall. A stylish binding by Zaehnsdorf with raised bands, gilt title, dentelles and all edges. With a design on the upper boards with red and green onlays. Deluxe edition signed by the author and limited to 265 copies.With colour plates throughout.

London: Religious Tract Society, c.1870. Full crushed morocco, 6.5 inches tall. A superb little binding with gilt raised bands, extra gilt panels, dentelles and all edges. Scattered light foxing. A neat ink inscription dated 1871 on the 3rd blank. Illustrated full page engravings.

A splendid Georgian binding with gilt raised bands, a series of pallets framing the panels and elaborate gilt rolls and corner tooling on the boards. All edges gilt. Engraved portrait and title page. Two bookplates. Slight fading to the spine, overall a superb little edition of the works of this great Roman lyric poet. In the original Latin.

London: 1889. Full morocco, 10 inches tall. A splendid full morocco by Bumpus with gilt raised bands, fine gilt tooling to the panels and double gilt fillets and corner tooling to the panels. Dentelles and all edges gilt. Slight fading to the spine. Decorated with 6 etchings by M. M. Taylor.

London: Crosby, 1804. Full morocco, 7 1/4 inches tall. A very pretty Georgian straight grain morocco binding with gilt raised bands and delicate centre tools. The boards are framed within a lovely gilt roll and triple fillets. All edges gilt. Illustrated with fine engraved vignettes throughout. A neat ink inscription on the reverse of the free end paper and a previous owner's name on the title page. The half title has been torn out. Slightly grubby but still a charming volume.

A beautiful little volume bound for Hatchards of Piccadilly with raised bands, blind tooling over the shoulders and gilt tittles and floral brackets on the spine and upper board. Three tales finely printed on hand made paper, top edge gilt, the rest untrimmed, by Humhpreys.

A beautiful little binding by Zaehnsdorf, with their stamp obscured, with gilt raised bands, superb extra gilt panels ans ornate gilt corner tooling to the boards. Gilt top edge and dentelles. The poetry, letters and Life of the great Renaissance Florentine painter, sculptor and architect, in the original Italian.

London & Boston: The Medici Society, n.d. c.1920. Full morocco, 5 1/2 inches tall. A scarce little edition in a full crushed morocco binding by Hatchards. A delightful volume containing several obscure as well as more familiar Christmas Carols.

London: Charles Tilt, 1837. 2 vols., 12mo (4.25 x 2.75 inches). Full mauve morocco, with decorative gilt tooling framing title on spine. Double blind rule framing gilt scrolling foliage centre tool to both boards. All edges gilt. Unusual oxidised book plate 'Sarah'. Engraved frontispiece plates.

London: Routledge, 1872. Full red morocco, 8.5 inches tall. A heavy Victorian binding with gilt raised bands, title, dentelles and all edges and splendid gilt tooling to the panels and boards. An excellent anthology of English poetry from the perspective of the time. With illustrations by Millais, Gilbert, Tenniel, Birket Foster and others. An owners name on the paste down endpaper has been crossed out and there is some foxing to the blanks, otherwise clean.

A superb little edition with exceptionally bold clasps with raised bands, gilt title and all edges. The clasps are in full working order. A neat ink inscription, dated 1879, on the first blank.
