The Dance of Death.

London: Coxhead, 1816. Full morocco, 8 1/2 inches tall. A superb Regency full straight grain morocco in sparkling condition with wide gilt raised bands, ornate gilt frames in the panels and the boards framed by gilt fillet and roll and blind geometric roll. All edges gilt. Armorial bookplate. This is one of the scarce copies with hand coloured plates. 2 portraits, full page engraving of the procession and the suite of 30 exquisite engravings of the skeletal grim reaper in action. An interesting comparison to Rowlandson's illustrations to 'The English Dance of Death'.
