London: Charles Knight, c.1860. 7 volume set, 9 3/4 inches tall. A most handsome and imposing Victorian full diced calf with gilt raised bands, twin labels and extra gilt panels. A single gilt fillet frames the boards. The boards are somewhat speckled. A previous owner's name, Ann Hayward is neatly written in ink at the head of the title page. As the name of the edition implies the set is profusely illustrated with full page plates and vignettes within the text.
