London: Cadell, 1835. 10 volume set, 6 1/2 inches tall. A very handsome early Victorian full diced calf bound set of the revised edition in superb condition. With gilt raised bands, twin labels and delicate gilt floral centre tooling. A single gilt fillet frames the diced boards. With the neat ink previous owner's name 'Susan Gibbs Lopez' on the paste down end paper. Portrait and engraved coins on the title pages. A contemporary of Gibbon, Mitford's great 'History of Greece' was very well received and went through many editions.
