Edinburgh: Cadell, 1842. 12 volume set, 10 inches tall. Imposing early Victorian half calf with wide gilt raised bands and fine gilt tooling to the panels. All edges gilt. Interesting gilt end papers. Fine vignettes and full page engravings throughout. Some creature appears to have taken a small chomp out of the tail of volume XI, but still a clean and smart set.
