The Pictorial Arts of Japan. With a Brief Historical Sketch of the Associated Arts and Some Remarks upon the Pictorial Art of the Chinese and Koreans.

London: Sampson, Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington, 1886. Full morocco, 16 1/2 inches tall. A magnificent Victorian full hard grain morocco with gilt raised bands and elaborate and very fine gilt tooling to the panels. The boards are framed within a series of gilt fillets and rolls and delicate corner tooling. Gilt doublures and all edges. Watered silk end papers. An Artist's Proof copy signed by Anderson on the title page and 4 sectional half-title pages. Decorated with 80 plates on India Proof Paper (19 of which are coloured) and 146 further illustrations in the text, as called for. A stunning example of this great work.
