Paris: Louis Janet, c.1825. 2 volume set, 7 inches tall. An exceptionally elegant little full calf binding with a smooth back and neat geometric gilt tooling to the spine and gilt and blind tooling to the boards. Fine engravings. Bouilly was a French writer, librettist and author, who after the revolution was charged with directing a plan to educate French youth. This was one of his efforts to that purpose. There is some sporadic heavy browning to some leaves, the binding is pristine.
