Diary of the Besieged Resident in Paris.
London: Hurst and Blackett, 1871. Full morocco, 8 1/2 inches tall. A superb binding by Hammond with gilt raised bands with olive label and onlays to the panels and boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. Slight rubbing and abrasions. On the first blank is a very neat inscription presenting the book to a Dr. Préterre dated 1873, Dr. Préterre's name is also at the foot of the spine. A splendid example of the enlarged second edition of this scarce book.
