EXTRAORDINARY SET IN SUPERB HALF CRUSHED MOROCCO

Memoirs of the History of France During the Reign of Napoleon, Dictated by the Emperor at Saint Helena.

London: Colburn, 1823; Colburn 1824; Phillips, 1820. 8 volume set, 9 inches tall. A superb half plum crushed morocco by Riviere with wide gilt raised bands and 'Napoleonic centre tools' within gilt corner tools and pallets in the panels. Gilt top edges, the rest untrimmed. There are some scuffs, nicks and abrasions on a few boards but the spines are unblemished. With the errata slip on page xii. Illustrated with folding plans, map and 'similes' of manuscript pages. We could find no other sets extended to 8 volumes by the inclusion of O'Meara's concluding work.
