The Roman History from the Foundation of Rome to the Battle of Actium.
London: Rivington et al., 1768. 10 volume set, 9 inches tall. An elegant set in 18th century tree calf with gilt bands, fine twin labels and elaborate gilt tooled panels, typical of the period. With the bookplate of Lord Kenyon of Gredington. There is some slight wear to some joints, a couple of headcaps and rubbing to the spines but overall a good solid set. There is a neat ink inscription at the head of the title page 'Kenyon, the gift of his father 8 May 1791'. The set is illustrated with a portrait, 14 maps, mostly folding, and 17 further plates. Translated from the French.
