The Beauties of the Court of King Charles the Second; A series of portraits.
London: Colburn, 1833. Full morocco, 13 inches tall. A glorious full morocco binding with the binder's stamp neatly ruled out (something I've not seen happen before) with extraordinary gilt tooling to the spine and boards. Very fine wide gilt tooled dentelles, doublures and silk embossed endpapers. A bookplate has been carefully removed from the front paste down endpaper. Decorated with 21 mezzotints of the young ladies of the Court of Charles II, the 'Merry Monarch'.
