London: De La Rue & Co., c.1860. Full calf, 11.5 inches tall. A remarkable and very rare binding designed by, or in the style of, Owen Jones. A wonderful floral design stamped in deep relief on the spine and boards. The title is gilt tooled on the spine and highlighted in gold on the upper boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. One copy is listed on Library Hub at the University of Cambridge. The only other example I have ever seen is the one I had in stock and sold last year. This one is in pristine condition and , having never been used, all the leaves are present and intact. Some leaves have simple floral borders, some more elaborate and in more than one colour, some have blind stamped floral borders and some are plain.
