London: Chapman and Hall, c.1860. Full morocco, 8.75 inches tall. A superbly bound Victorian full hard grain morocco with gilt raised bands and exceptionally fine dense gilt tooling to the panels and boards. Gilt dentelles and all edges. With 24 unusually clean engraved plates by George Cruikshank. Armorial bookplate. Slight fading of the spine which is still bright. A lovely example of one of Dickens's most enjoyed tales.
