With gilt raised bands and extraordinary gilt tooling to the panels and boards. With wide gilt dentelles and all edges gilt. With the monogram and crest of Beckford Bevan on the doublures and his neat signature, dated 1843, on the first blank. The first edition of a work famous for splendid colour printing with 83 engraved plates, 2 double page and numerous colour printed initials. Slight foxing, otherwise in pristine condition.
