London: Routledge, 1865-1876
37 titles bound in 3 volumes, 9.5 - 10.5 inches tall. An elegant yet simple 19th century half morocco by Antoine Chatelin with raised bands and gilt titles and top edges. All first printings. Most of these titles are extremely scarce in this very fine condition, the earliest titles being almost unobtainable in any condition. The later titles, which show Crane's freer hand and oriental influences are superb when seen in this state. I believe these came from the publisher's Paris office but there is no sign of previous ownership.
