4 vols., 8vo (8½" tall). Full green straight grain morocco by ZAEHNSDORF. Gilt raised bands on spine, with lettering and simple gilt borders to panels and boards. Dentelles and top edge gilt. Armorial bookplate of Henry Bagge to front pastedown. Full page engraved plates after Fragonard. An immaculately presented set.
A very handsome, elegantly understated binding by Zaehnsdorf. Fragonard was one of the best known French illustrators of his day.
