Dibdin's literary reputation was firmly established by
Bibliotheca Spenceriana (1814-15) and he remains one of
England's most celebrated bibliophiles. Lively and
amusing in tone and content, his publications were
particularly notable for their exceptional production
and beautiful illustrations. "In 1818 Dibdin spent some
time in France and Germany, and in his
?Bibliographical, Antiquarian, and Picturesque Tour,? a
very costly work from its engravings, which appeared in
1821, he gives an amusing account of his travels, with
descriptions of the contents of several of the chief
libraries of Europe." (DNB). Uniformly bound with our
other copies of Dibdin's works.
