Dibdin's literary reputation was firmly established by
Bibliotheca Spenceriana (1814-15) and he remains one of
England's most celebrated bibliophiles. Lively and
amusing in tone and content, his publications were
particularly notable for their exceptional production
and beautiful illustrations. "The ?Bibliotheca
Spenceriana,? which is a very fine specimen of the
printing of the time, has had the effect of making Lord
Spencer's library better known out of England than any
other library, and certainly led many scholars to make
a study of its rarities." (DNB). Uniformly bound with
our other copies of Dibdin's works.
