13 vols., 8vo (9" tall). 51 fine engravings in volume 13. Full red morocco by J. Clarke. A superb binding from the beginning of the 19th century. Gilt raised bands, palette lines, double roll framing the boards, dentelles and edges. A slight superficial darkening to one panel on volume four.
An exceptionally bright set in full red morocco binding of Monstrelet's chronicle of European history from 1400 - 1467, complete with a volume of 51 beautiful line engravings. Each engraving illustrates an episode from Monstrelet's detailed history of the final stages of the Hundred Years' War. The title is of particular historical importance, predominantly because of the many authentic documents used and the credibly accurate speech it records.
