All edges gilt. Illustrated throughout with fine engraved plates including frontispiece and title page. Some foxing to the plates. In vol.2, the plates have damp stains.
A very charming and elegant set of Mrs Ellis, who 'was generally reviewed as an admirably moral writer'. (DNB)
