Large 8vo (9.5 x 7.25 inches). Full green morocco, with black raised bands, black and gilt pallets, gilt animal centre tools. Large ornate gilt design to both boards. Gilt ruled dentelles, all edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Frontispiece plate, engraved vignettes throughout. Armorial bookplate. Little foxed. A few marks and blemishes, but overall a stunning copy.
A distinctive and bold Victorian binding, beautifully illustrated throughout by the best known Victorian book illustrators, Cruikshank, Leech and Tenniel.
