A very handsome binding in full tree calf. French historian and educationist, Charles Rollin's Traite des Etudes (1726-31) was a highly original and important summary of a reformed and innovative system of education, which abandoned the medieval traditions that still remained in the French system. Still in print today, this title remains a significant work nearly three hundred years after it was first published.
