3 vols., 8vo (8.5 x 5.5 inches). Full tree calf with twin burgundy labels, gilt bands, with two folding maps of Greece. Occasional spotting but generally very clean with wide margins. Some expert restoration of the head and tail caps. A very handsome set in a classic eighteenth century binding.
From the library of Anthony Lefroy, with his bookplate in each volume. Anthony Lefroy was the father of Thomas Lefroy reputed to be the great unrequited love of Jane Austen, as recently portrayed in the Hollywood film "Becoming Jane". A lovely copy with a unique provenance.
