A very pretty little set. More was one of the original
'Blue stockings', ladies of literary persuasion in
eighteenth century London who strove to promote
intellectual discourse in preference to card-playing
and other more frivolous female pursuits. Her writings
were immensely popular and respected, and her novel
'Coelebs' is one of the best known titles.
