early Victorian binding with raised bands, superb gilt
panels and boards, dentelles and all edges. Some foxing.
Rogers was a well known man of letters in early
nineteenth century England and he was offered, but
declined, laureateship in 1850. Pleasures of Memory,
Jacqueline and Italy are amongst his most popular works.
