Dentelles and all edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Lavishly illustrated throughout with fine engraved portraits. Armorial bookplates. Slightly worn at extremities, but a superb set nonetheless.
A handsome copy of this classic title, complete, with wonderful illustrations throughout. Lodge's Portraits cost a staggering £40,000 to produce and was praised by Scott as a 'splendid work' of 'vast consequence'.
